BEING HOME ALONE SAFELY This is a self-care program for children 10-12 years of age (10 years at the discretion of the parent/s) who may be home alone after school, on weekends or in the mornings. Children 8-10 years of age may register along with their 10-12 year old brother or sister, but may not register alone in the program. Topics include: parent/s and child expectations and ground rules, family council meetings, contracting for being home alone, handling emergencies, safety, first aid, responsibility and accountability, responsibilities with siblings and friends, coping with "fears."
Note: Saturday classes bring a bag lunch; Parents attend first 1/2 hour. After school classes parents are invited to attend class one and six if able.
